PROJECT:

Gentle Giant Ltd's retail site.

SERVICES:

Concept, layout, rendering, programming, database integration, shopping cart, inventory monitoring, custom administrative tool.

 

CONCEPT:

Moving away from the heavy rendered look of the previous versions, Gentle Giant wanted a light, user-centric e-commerce site, bracketed by a custom back end administration tool that allows for inventory monitoring from product creation all the way to retail sale and shipping.

 

GEOMETRY AND PROPORTION:

Simplifying the artwork and the use of simple geometric shapes to make bold call outs resulted in clean, classically proportioned layouts and exceptionally easy to use shopping pages. Coupled wth their ultra-clean animated maquette line, the site's pages serve as a canvas for Gentle Giant's artwork.

SEARCH BASED NAVIGATION:

With over a dozen prime movie, comic, and video game licenses, and almost as many product types, the navigation system for the site needed to be simple and direct.

Infernal's Technical Core utilized a search based navigation that will aloow Gentle Giant to expand their product line without having to add more steps for the end consumer.

USER BASED PARTICIPATION:

During Phase 2 of the site, users will be able to participate in the construction of an online community completely devoted to the properties and products that make up Gentle Giant. The smack talk begins early 2007.

PRECISION AND QUALITY:

Utilizing dynamic image resizing Infernal Machinery combines the best of art, technology, and simple maintenance in displaying Gentle Giant's product line. One product = one image.
